2007a44a27 test(many): fix failing tests that CI was not reporting (#29485)
Code checks were passing even though these tests were failing because
the docker script was not exiting with the correct exit code. This PR
fixes the tests so that they pass, then PR
https://github.com/ionic-team/ionic-framework/pull/29425 can be merged
so CI will properly fail again when tests fail.

f15b62a9ca fix(select): options are visible with fit-content width and fill outline (#29408)
Issue number: resolves #29321

---------

<!-- Please do not submit updates to dependencies unless it fixes an
issue. -->

<!-- Please try to limit your pull request to one type (bugfix, feature,
etc). Submit multiple pull requests if needed. -->

## What is the current behavior?
<!-- Please describe the current behavior that you are modifying. -->

When using a select with `fill="outline"`, `interface="popover"` and a
width that fits the content of the options, the select options are not
visible. The hidden radio is covering the text of the radio text
options.

## What is the new behavior?
<!-- Please describe the behavior or changes that are being added by
this PR. -->

- Select options are visible and no longer covered by the hidden radio
container

This **does not** change where the light/dark/high contrast styles live
or how they are consumed in the test infra. That work is done here:

35ab6b4816 fix(select): popover can be scrolled (#28965)
Issue number: resolves #28963

---------

<!-- Please do not submit updates to dependencies unless it fixes an

<!-- Please try to limit your pull request to one type (bugfix, feature,
etc). Submit multiple pull requests if needed. -->

## What is the current behavior?
<!-- Please describe the current behavior that you are modifying. -->

In https://github.com/ionic-team/ionic-framework/pull/28861 I fixed an
issue that caused the wrong content inside of a popover to be
scrollable. This CSS should have been applied, but it broke back when
popover was converted to the Shadow DOM. Fixing this issue revealed a
misconfiguration with the select-popover that caused the select-popover
to no longer be scrollable.

## What is the new behavior?
<!-- Please describe the behavior or changes that are being added by
this PR. -->

- Content inside of `ion-select-popover` can now be scrolled

Note that I am considering this a bug fix instead of a regression. While
scrolling used to work in select-popover, it only worked by chance. The
`.popover-viewport` styles should have always applied to the
select-popover, thus requiring the use of `overflow-y: auto` in
select-popover.

10c38d0354 fix(popover): content inside of popover scrolls correctly (#28861)
Issue number: resolves #28455

---------

<!-- Please do not submit updates to dependencies unless it fixes an
issue. -->

<!-- Please try to limit your pull request to one type (bugfix, feature,
etc). Submit multiple pull requests if needed. -->

## What is the current behavior?
<!-- Please describe the current behavior that you are modifying. -->

The main `ion-content` inside of a popover is not scrollable. Instead,
the `.popover-viewport` container is scrolled because certain styles no
longer applied once we moved popover to the Shadow DOM. This bug
impacted the linked issue because it meant that the infinite scroll
inside of the content never fires (since the content never scrolls).

## What is the new behavior?
<!-- Please describe the behavior or changes that are being added by
this PR. -->

- The `.popover-viewport` rule now targets slotted content with
the`.popover-viewport` class. This class is added to the root node that
is slotted. This enables us to target the user's content in the light
dom.

0c117cfe7f fix(select): popover uses modern form syntax (#27818)
Issue number: resolves #27071, resolves #27786

---------

<!-- Please do not submit updates to dependencies unless it fixes an
issue. -->

<!-- Please try to limit your pull request to one type (bugfix, feature,
etc). Submit multiple pull requests if needed. -->

## What is the current behavior?
<!-- Please describe the current behavior that you are modifying. -->

`ion-select-popover` is using the legacy syntax for `ion-checkbox` and
`ion-radio`.

## What is the new behavior?
<!-- Please describe the behavior or changes that are being added by
this PR. -->

- Migrated checkbox and radio to use the modern syntax
- Updated the visual rendering tests to also check the checked state. I
noticed during development that I accidentally broke the checked state,
so I added tests so we can't accidentally break it again.

A couple notes on other screenshot diffs:

- On iOS, the item border line now extends past the radio circle. This
is an intentional behavior and aligns with native iOS. Having the radio
in the "start" slot is typically only done when the content in the
default slot is another interactive element (like and input) and not a
text label.
- On MD, the control heights are smaller. When comparing with
https://material-components.github.io/material-components-web-catalog/#/component/select,
the new behavior seems to be correct. Both the spec and Ionic item
heights are 48px. Interestingly, the radios in `ion-select-popover` have
always been 48px tall, but the checkboxes were 54px. Now both the radios
and checkboxes are 48px.

- The basic tests were creating screenshots of each overlay as they were
opened. However, we already have test coverage for how each overlay is
rendered in each overlay test suite. As a result, I removed the
screenshots in favor of a `toBeVisible` assertion. This ensures that
overlays are presented with the select, which is what I think we want to
prioritize testing.
- These same tests were also waiting for overlays to dismiss. This
behavior is already tested in the respective overlay test suites, so I
removed the dismiss calls.

4826a3d9f5 test(config): introduce legacy and modern playwright projects (#27228)
Issue number: N/A

---------

<!-- Please refer to our contributing documentation for any questions on
submitting a pull request, or let us know here if you need any help:
https://ionicframework.com/docs/building/contributing -->

<!-- Some docs updates need to be made in the `ionic-docs` repo, in a
separate PR. See
https://github.com/ionic-team/ionic-framework/blob/main/.github/CONTRIBUTING.md#modifying-documentation
for details. -->

<!-- Please do not submit updates to dependencies unless it fixes an
issue. -->

<!-- Please try to limit your pull request to one type (bugfix, feature,
etc). Submit multiple pull requests if needed. -->

This is the first PR to introduce the infrastructure required to add
test generators to the Ionic Framework project. This PR introduces the
file name changes necessary to support two playwright configs, so I
recommend reviewing the PR by commit:

1e5012cea1

- Created a `playwright.config-legacy.ts` file and updates
`package.json`.
- Running `npm run test.e2e` will run the generator tests, and running
`npm run test.e2e.legacy` will run the legacy tests.

4fe8de7df7

- Updates the GitHub Action scripts to run both the modern and legacy
E2E tests. I added command modifiers to avoid collisions with output
directories.

e8bcfaf926

- Updates `*.e2e.ts` files to have the legacy format name:
`*.e2e-legacy.ts`. This naming scheme is required for the two Playwright
configs to pull in the correct files. When migrating tests to
generators, team members will rename the file to remove the `-legacy`
part.

5bf196c36d
(warning: lots of files!)

- Updates the `*.e2e.ts-snapshots` directories to have the legacy format
name: `*.e2e-legacy.ts-snapshots`. The screenshot directory in
Playwright is generated based on the test file name which is why we are
updating the screenshot directory. When migrating tests to generators,
team members will rename the directory to remove the `-legacy` part.
