Alan Modra	4981a31d52	Use __func__ rather than __FUNCTION__ ... We already use C99's __func__ in places, use it more generally. This patch doesn't change uses in the testsuite. I've also left one in gold.h that is protected by GCC_VERSION < 4003. Alan Modra	ed2917de68	gas: rename md_end to md_finish ... Currently md_end is typically used for some final actions rather than freeing memory like other *_end functions. Rename it to md_finish, and rename target implementation. The renaming of target functions makes it possible to find them all with "grep md_finish", eg. md_mips_end is renamed to mips_md_finish, not md_mips_finish. This patch leaves a number of md_end functions unchanged, those that either do nothing or deallocate memory, and calls them late. The idea here is that target maintainers implement md_end functions to tidy memory, if anyone cares. Jozef Lawrynowicz	7d81bc937c	MSP430: Support relocations for subtract expressions in .uleb128 directives ... Link-time relaxations of branches are common for MSP430, given that GCC can generate pessimal branch instructions, and the -mcode-region=either/-mdata-region=either options to shuffle sections can further change the type of branch instruction required. These relaxations can result in invalid code when .uleb128 directives, used in the .gcc_except_table section, are used to calculate the distance between two labels. A value for the .uleb128 directive is calculated at assembly-time, and can't be updated at link-time, even if relaxation causes the distance between the labels to change. This patch implements an htab_insert that conditionally replaces, and similarly for str_hash_insert. str_hash_insert with replace=0 is roughly equivalent to the older hash_insert, and str_hash_insert with replace=1 to the older hash_jam, but return values are different. I found it useful to know whether the slot was occupied prior to inserting/replacing. I've also reinstated the fatal errors on messing up opcode tables with duplicates. Clang's integrated assembler supports multiple section with the same name: .section .text,"ax",@progbits,unique,1 nop .section .text,"ax",@progbits,unique,2 nop "unique,N" assigns the number, N, as the section ID, to a section. The valid values of the section ID are between 0 and 4294967295. It can be used to distinguish different sections with the same section name. This is useful with -fno-unique-section-names -ffunction-sections. -ffunction-sections by default generates .text.foo, .text.bar, etc. Using the same string can save lots of space in .strtab. This patch adds section_id to bfd_section and reuses the linker internal bit in BFD section flags, SEC_LINKER_CREATED, for assmebler internal use to mark valid section_id. Those sections shouldn't be modified anyway. The patch also removes various bfd_get_section_<field> macros, replacing their use with bfd_section_<field>, and adds bfd_set_section_lma. I've also fixed a minor bug in gas where compressed section renaming was done directly rather than calling bfd_rename_section. My understanding is that the devices being removed were "invalid spins", so can't be being used by anyone, and never will be. Current web searches related to these devices return no relevant results. Trevor Saunders	47990a6ab5	cast literal to char * when assigning to input_line_ptr ... various places either directly or indirectly set input_line_pointer to point at a literal. Currently lots of places modify the string input_line_pointer points at, so making it const isn't easy. We need to add casts in tc-s390.c and tc-cris.c because they have functions that assign to input_line_pointer an argument that sometimes comes from md_parse_option. Presumably this is safe because those targets never pass literals to md_parse_option (), but this code should probably be improved in the future.
